This workout thing…

Hi Everybody!  It’s been a while since I last wrote, and I feel bad!  Time has gone by soooo fast!  So, it’s been about 2 weeks since Danita and I started our “Workout Challenge”…I would have to say “Challenge” is the word of the day here!  I don’t think either one of us realized what we were getting ourselves into!  Between our schedules and feeling a bit “under the weather”…we’ve struggled to make things happen!  Yesterday I made it a promise to myself to start over again…with a renewed, positive effort!  I started the week off with a Spinning Class… wow!  My teacher, Katie, from Urban Active Fitness…is OUTSTANDING!  She’s so good, I could barely walk into the News Room today! (Just kidding Katie!)   Katie told me it’s all worth it in the end… did you know,  depending on your body type you can actually burn up to 700 calories in that *one* 45 minute class?!  No wonder why she looks like she belongs on the cover of a fitness magazine!  Santino is the Manager of the Legacy Village location where Danita and I go… he says cardio and weight training will get us where we want to be… as long as we stick to it!  (I’m tired just thinking about it!! )  All joking aside, and tell me if I’m wrong, health is wealth.  My Papa Scicolone used to always say that to me before he passed away a few years ago. (At the age of 93!)  I finally see what he means … we have to take care of ourselves.  Eat right, exercise, and have a positive attitude!  The more I look back on how my Papa lived…that seemed to be his secret to a long, wonderful life…a positive attitude, especially!   (I want to say it’s our weekly Sunday Pasta Dinners, but we’ll stick with the healthy stuff!!)  If anyone has any other words of wisdom for me and Danita about working out…feel free to let us know!  Our deadline is December 1st to get back in our jeans and that is coming fast!!  Have a great day!!  XOXO  Alicia
